うろうろ	歩く	hang around	With nothing to do, the boss was hanging around in the office. 何もすることがない上司は事務所の中をうろうろ歩きまわっていた。
すごすご	逃げる	dispiritedly; crestfallen	When the smaller dog growled at the bigger one, the bigger ran dispiritedly (crestfallen). 小さいほうの犬がうなると大きいほうの犬はすごすごと逃げて行った。
すたすた	歩く	briskly	When he heard a knock, he walked briskly to the door. トントンという音がしたので彼はすたすたとドアまで歩いて行った。
するり	逃げる	slip out	The moment I caught the boy, he slipped out right under my arm. 捕まえたと思ったとたんに少年はするりと逃げた。
てくてく	歩く	hoof it	I missed the last bus and hoofed it home late at night. 最終バスに乗り遅れ、夜更けにてくてくと家路を歩いた。  Note   hoof はもともと「ひづめ」の意味。また「てくてく歩く」の hoof it はこのまま覚えてください。
どかどか	来る	pound into; thud into	The police pounded into the suspect's house. 警察はどかどかと容疑者の家に押しかけた。
とことこ	歩く	toddle	On my half way home I knew an ownerless cat was toddling after me. 家に帰る途中で野良猫がとことこついてくるのに気がついた。  Note   「よちよち」「とことこ」など、小またでちょこちょこ歩く場合には toddle がぴったりです。
とぼとぼ	歩く	plod; trudge	An old man was plodding along in the dark. 老人が夜道をとぼとぼと歩いていた。
どやどや	来る	barge into	People barged into the shop for discount sales. 安売り目当てに客がどやどやと店に押しかけた。
どろん	逃げる	make oneself scarce	When the clerk knew it, it was too late. The man had made himself scarce without paying the charge. 客室係が気づいたときにはすでに遅く、男は部屋代を払わずにどろんしていた。
のそのそ	歩く	amble around	The lion is ambling around in the cage. ライオンが檻の中でのそのそと歩いている。
のっしのっし	歩く	lumber	The elephant lumbers along. 像がのっしのっしと歩く。  Note  上の amble は「ゆっくり」と歩く様子を表現しているのに対して、 lumber には「重そうな動き」のニュアンスがあります。
ぱたぱた	歩く	pitter-patter	"I heard a girl pitter-pattering in slippers." "How did you know she was in slippers?" 「女の子がスリッパでぱたぱた歩くのを聞いたんです。」「なぜそれがスリッパだとわかったのかね？」  Note   「ぱたぱた」も「ぺたぺた」も pitter-patter ちなみに雨などが「ぱらぱら」降る音にも使えます。
ふらふら	歩く	stagger	Drunken so much, the man staggered into another pub. かなり酔っ払った状態で男はふらふらと別のパブに入って行った。
ぶらぶら	歩く	hang around	Don't hang around here and do something reasonable! ここでぶらぶらしてないで、何かまともなことをやったら？！
ぺたぺた	歩く	pitter-patter	"I heard a girl walking pitter-patter." "How did you know it was a girl?" 「女の子がぺたぺたと歩くのが聞こえたんです。」「なんでそれが女の子だとわかったのかね？」
よたよた	歩く	stagger	A drunk staggered toward me and asked the way to a taxi stand nearby. 酔っ払いがよたよたと歩いて来て、タクシー乗り場はどこか聞いてきた。
よちよち	歩く	toddle	A baby toddled to his father. 赤ん坊がよちよち歩きで父親のところまで歩いて行った。  Note   ちなみによちよち歩きの赤ちゃんのことを toddler と言います。
よろよろ	歩く	stagger; reel	An old dog is staggering along the road. 年老いた犬がよろよろと道を歩いていた。  Note   「ふらふら」、「よたよた」、「よろよろ」など、いわゆる「心もとない歩き方」はすべて stagger で表現できそうです。
