擬音（態）語	意味	英語	例文
ぐしゃぐしゃ	崩壊	messy; crushed out of shape	It was a terrible accident and both cars were crushed out of shape. ひどい事故で車は両方ともぐしゃぐしゃにつぶれていた。
ゴチャゴチャ	乱れ	cluttered	There was an earthquake and the floor was cluttered with books. 地震があって、床には本がゴチャゴチャと散らばっていた。
ずたずた	破る	torn to shreds	The boss was furious about my wish of resignation and tore the paper to shreds in front of me. 上司は私の退職に対してかんかんで、目の前で退職願いをずたずたに破ってしまった。
すってんころりん	転倒	slip	He ran, but he slipped and fell on the snow-covered ground. 彼は逃げた。しかしすってんころりんと雪の上に転んでしまった。
ずるずる	深み	gradually drawn into...	We tried to keep the boy away from bad boys, but he was gradually drawn into the world of crime. その少年を悪いグループから遠ざけようと努力したが、結局ずるずると悪の世界へ入ってしまった。
ちゃらんぽらん	乱れ	sloppy; slaphappy	He is funny and everybody loves him. But he has something slaphappy, and that's a fly in the ointment. 彼はおもしろいキャラクターでみんなに好かれているが、どこかちゃらんぽらんなところがあるのが玉に疵だ。 Note "a fly in the ointment"は「軟膏に入った蝿」で「玉に疵」という意味になります。
チョンボ	失敗	a blooper; a blunder	While he was dillydallying in the job, he made a blooper. だらだら仕事をしているうちに彼はついにチョンボをやらかしてしまった。
でこぼこ	乱れ	bumpy	After driving on the bumpy road for a long time, the car had some trouble. でこぼこ道を長時間走っていたら車の調子がおかしくなった。
てんやわんや	騒ぐ	utter confusion	The town was in utter confusion preparing for welcoming a celebrated person. とある有名人を迎えるというので、その町はてんやわんやの状態だった。
どたばた	騒ぐ	romp about; boisterous	It was a boisterous low comedy with the characters just romping about. それは登場人物がどたばた騒ぐ低俗なコメディーだった。
どっぷり	深み	soak in...; too involved in...	My brother is too involved in mafia communities and cannot wash his hands of them. 弟はヤクザの世界にどっぷりつかってしまって容易に足を洗うことができなくなっている。
とんちんかん	わからない	off the mark	His remark is completely off the mark and nobody can understand it. 彼の言うことはとんちんかんで誰も理解できない。
びりびり	破る	rip to shreds	"This is just a garbage," saying so, the villain ripped the contract to shreds. 「こんなもんはゴミだ。」そう言うと悪党は契約書をびりびり破いてしまった。
ぺちゃんこ	崩壊	crushed; levelled	The typhoon levelled the shed to the ground. 台風が来て物置小屋をぺしゃんこにしてしまった。
べろべろ	酔う	dead drank	He called his wife dead drank at midnight and told her to stay awake till he was home. 彼は真夜中にべろべろに酔って妻に電話し、家に帰るまで待ってろと言った。
べろんべろん	酔う	get plastered	When he was home plastered, his wife had gone to bed and had locked him out. 彼がべろんべろんに酔って家に帰りついたときには、妻はもう寝ていて、カギも閉まっていて家に入れなくなっていた。 Note ちなみに plaster は「石膏」や「壁などに塗る材料」のこと。
ぽしゃる	失敗	go phut	The event which we had been preparing for these months went phut because of low budget. ここ何ヶ月か準備を重ねてきたイベントが、予算の関係でぽしゃってしまった。
ぽっくり	死ぬ	pop off	His grandfather popped off like an apple falls from the tree. 彼のおじいさんは、まるでリンゴが木から落ちるようにぽっくりと死んでしまった。
むちゃくちゃ、めちゃくちゃ	乱れ	outrageous; ridiculous; unreasonable	What he wants to say is ridiculous and unreasonable and I just can't accept it. 彼の言い分はむちゃくちゃでとても聞いていられない。
めちゃめちゃ	乱れ	make a total mess of ...; become completely demolished	The neighbor's dog came into our garden and made a total mess of it. 近所の犬がうちの庭にやってきてめちゃめちゃにしてしまった。
