オーストラリアの国歌

	National Anthems


The National Anthem of Australia Peter Dodds McCormick によって作曲され、人々に愛されましたが、実際に「国歌」として初めて公式の場で披露されたのは1984年4月19日ロサンジェルス・オリンピックの時。というのも、もともと英国の領土であったオーストラリア、英国の国歌 God Save the Queen があったからです。現在オーストラリアは独立国家ではありますが、英国のエリザベス二世を国家元首とする立憲君主制を維持しています。1972年新しいオーストラリア国歌を設定することを公約に政権を握った「労働党」により、「国歌」の公募が行われ、そのなかの上位について国民投票で決定されました。ただし、英国王室のメンバーが列席している場では英国国歌 God Save the Queen が歌われることになっています。ちなみに惜しくも「国歌」にはなれなかったものの人々に愛されている歌に Waltzing Matilda というのもあります。下記のサイトに行くと、オーストラリア国歌が聴けます（歌あり）。（www.auswelshmalechoir.org.au/ より） Listen to: http://www.auswelshmalechoir.org.au/pages/ausanthsoundtrack.html ※なお、音楽を聴くには専用のソフトが必要な場合があります。
