さらさら	小川など	bubble, murmur	When I was small, I used to lie on the grass listening to murmuring of a small stream nearby. 幼い頃、さらさらという小川のせせらぎを聞きながら草の上で寝そべって時を過ごしたものだ。
しとしと	雨	drizzle	It was one night of summer and it was drizzling when I saw a white blur image in the distance. それはある夏の夜のこと、雨がしとしと降っていた。私は遠くに白いぼんやりしたものを見たのだ。
たらたら	落ちる	dripping	I ran and ran. Sweat was dripping from the forehead. But I kept running. 私はとにかく逃げた。汗が額からたらたら落ちてきた。しかし私は走り続けた。
ちょろちょろ	流れる	trickling	Probably my mother didn't turn off the tap water completely. The water is trickling. たぶん母が水道をきっちり閉めなかったのか、水がちょろちょろ流れている。
どぼん	落ちる	with a big (huge) splash	Two men were fighting on the bridge. Soon there was a big splash into the river. 橋の上で男が二人争っていた。しばらくするとどぼんという音がした。

ぶくぶく	泡がたつ	bubble out; bubble up; bubble away	Mary screamed to see dirty water bubbled out from the sink. 流しから汚い水がぶくぶく出てくるのを見てメアリはキャーと叫んだ。

ポタポタ	落ちる	trickle down	When little Cathy learned her dog was dead, tears trickled down her cheeks. 可愛がっていた犬が死んでしまったのを聞いて、キャシーの頬にポタポタと涙が流れた。
ポタリポタリ	落ちる	drip	While hearing the faucet dripping quietly lying in bed for a long time, I felt I was becomming almost crazy. ベッドの中で静かに横たわりながら、長い間水道の水がポタリポタリと落ちるのを聞いているうちに、だんだん頭がおかしくなりそうになった。
